I am fascinated by dreams, the captivating films made by the unconscious mind. Strange and visceral sensations, spaces, images, sounds, and unfamiliar narratives inspire and excite me. I work in both abstract and narrative experimental filmmaking through a process of technical experimentation, with image-making as my dominant voice. My current work is in cinematic time-based installations that are at times site specific and others simply as places of presentation. Exploring the aesthetics of image, sound, place, movement, my non-narrative films employ spontaneity that allows me to engage in unexpected and emergent themes. Capturing visually rich imagery that merges the common and the mythical, my experimental narrative films result in a space where illusory moments are explored. My stories tend to be visually driven with dreamlike moments during which reality becomes fantastic or fantasy de- familiarizes the habitual. I appreciate honest, simple stories that nevertheless expose the bizarre and chaotic nature of everyday worlds and spaces.
